Coin Trail for Christchurch

Today we dressed in red and black and brought coins to school to make a coin trail to raise funds for the people affected by the earthquake in Christchurch. We raised $3104.80. Each class came into the hall and put the coins into a spiral shape on the floor. In the afternoon we all had a photo taken together. We hope our money will help the people in Christchurch.

The Christchurch Earthquake

There were cracks on the buildings.
There were cracks on the roads.
There was a flood on the roads.
People were trapped in the buildings.
The buildings had cracks and the bricks came off.
Lots of buildings fell down and some people died.
Lots of people went to a park to be safe and no building could fall on them.
The people are very sad and frightened and they were running away to get safe.
The helicopters were looking to see the buildings.
A building fell on a bus.
Some people had injuries and were bleeding and hurt.
The top of the church fell off.
People went to the airport to go back home.
We feel very sad that it happened. We hope the people get better soon.

Welcome

Welcome to our new blog page for 2011. We hope you enjoy looking at all the exciting things we do in Room 2 this year.
We are a class of Year 2 children. We have 12 boys and 12 girls in our class. Most of us are 6 years old and have been at school for a year or more. We live in Howick which is part of Auckland, New Zealand. We will be looking on a map to see where people come from that look at our blog.
Please leave a comment if you like the things we are doing.
